Highlights from Coroflot Connects at IxD14, Amsterdam

The venue was perfect. Hands shook happily amongst a sea of chatter and laughter. The drinks clinked left and right. Our 4th annual Coroflot Connects event in conjunction with the IxDA Interaction Conference was a huge success. Here are just a few highlights of the evening.

First, the venue....

De Rode Hoed, or The Red Hat, is a cultural debate center located in a landmark building on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. Built in 1635, this meeting place has been dedicated to connective debates in which opposing sides find common ground and gain insights from one another. While Coroflot Connects isn't about opposition or conflict, it is about joining two sides of the same coin, so we turn the above venue into this...

...to bring together those looking for work and those hiring talent.

We set out every year to bring great companies together with great people, and people who just want to collaborate, network and talk about the ideas and talks of the conference. Every year, we all have a blast. Smiling faces abound...

Good times are had by all...

For our sponsors, which included SAP Labs, Philips, Booking.com, IBM Design, Native, Nothing Interactive, Rackspace, Atlas Copco and R/GA this year, they enjoyed face time with attendees that gave them the chance to describe about what it's like to work at their companies.

Here are Christine Ley and Michelle Clary from SAP (both on the right side of the table) chatting it up with attendees...

And here, Bastiaan Von Rooden from Nothing Interactive, who also goes by Spot, enjoys a laugh with a few attendees...

For all our attendees (of which we had over 250 this time), we hold a raffle of sponsor provided goodies. This year, Rackspace and Philips graceious provided an iPad Mini, plus two Soundshooter portable speakers, respectively. Here is Interaction 14 student volunteer Luke Chen showing off his Soundshooter...

Chrys Francisco accepting her Soundshooter speaker...

and Arundhati Basu accepting her new iPad Mini...

Just for kicks, here's our fearless leader, Stu Constantine, getting ready to start the raffle drawing.

Everyone here at Coroflot would like to thank you all for sponsoring and attending this super fun shin dig. If you got an job offer or connected to a valuable contact as a result of attending, please tell us about it in the comments. See you next year!
